Natural facial rejuvenation using the principles of acupuncture

Cosmetic Acupuncture at Spine Plus

Cosmetic acupuncture facial treatment

Cosmetic acupuncture is a natural, non-surgical approach to facial rejuvenation. Very fine acupuncture needles are used to stimulate circulation, promote collagen production and improve the tone and texture of facial skin. Unlike surgical procedures or injectables, cosmetic acupuncture works with the body’s own healing processes to produce gradual, natural-looking improvements.

How It Works

The placement of fine acupuncture needles in the face creates controlled micro-trauma to the skin and underlying tissue. This stimulates the skin’s natural repair response, triggering collagen and elastin production. The needling also improves local circulation, bringing nutrients to skin cells and supporting the removal of waste products.

Treatment is delivered by practitioners trained in both medical acupuncture and cosmetic techniques, ensuring a safe and effective approach informed by clinical understanding of facial anatomy.

What Cosmetic Acupuncture Can Help With

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Loss of facial tone and firmness
  • Dull or uneven skin tone
  • Puffiness and poor lymphatic drainage
  • Acne scarring and skin texture concerns
  • Jaw tension and facial muscle tightness (including TMJ)
  • Eye area puffiness and fine lines

What to Expect

A typical course of cosmetic acupuncture consists of 6 to 10 sessions, usually once a week. Each session takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes. Results are gradual, with most patients noticing improvements in skin tone and texture from around the third session onwards. Maintenance sessions every one to three months help sustain results.

Most patients find the treatment relaxing. The needles used are very fine and discomfort is minimal. There is no downtime, you can return to normal activities immediately after treatment.

Is It Safe?

Cosmetic acupuncture is a safe treatment when performed by trained practitioners. At Spine Plus, it is delivered by clinicians with full medical acupuncture qualifications. Single-use sterile needles are always used. Your practitioner will take a full health history before treatment to ensure it is appropriate for you.

Cosmetic acupuncture is not suitable during pregnancy or for patients taking blood-thinning medication without medical clearance.

A Natural Alternative

For those looking for a natural approach to skin health and facial rejuvenation without injectables or surgery, cosmetic acupuncture offers a safe and effective option backed by thousands of years of practice alongside modern understanding of skin physiology.
