How Does Focused Shockwave Work?
Unlike radial shockwaves, which use mechanical pressure waves, focused shockwaves are generated electromagnetically via a cylindrical coil, which creates opposing magnetic fields when current is applied. The energy is focused at a precise point deep within tissue.

Will treatment start at my first appointment?
Yes. After a case history and assessment, treatment begins at your first appointment. The only exception is where a contraindication is found during assessment.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. Most patients self-refer by calling or booking online. For focused shockwave for vascular erectile dysfunction, we recommend consulting a specialist first to rule out hormonal causes.
How often do I need treatment?
For most conditions, once per week. The focused shockwave delivers quick results; most problems respond to six sessions or fewer.
What happens during a session?
You are greeted at reception and taken to the treatment room. A water-based conduction gel is applied to the target area, and the probe is held or moved gently over the treatment site. Pressure and frequency are adjusted to your comfort level. With focused shockwave, a highly effective dose can typically be delivered with minimal discomfort.
