Denise's Heel Pain Shockwave Therapy Testimonial

Published: 1 November 2023

Denise came to our Hornchurch clinic with extreme plantar fasciitis. The pain was so severe it was restricting her walking and even limiting her choice of footwear. After just one session of radial shockwave therapy she noticed improvement, and after 4 sessions most of the pain had been eliminated.

Watch Denise talk about her experience:

About Plantar Fasciitis and Shockwave

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain, affecting both active and less active people. It's caused by inflammation and microtearing of the plantar fascia, the band of tissue connecting the heel to the toes.

Shockwave therapy is highly effective for plantar fasciitis because it:

  • Breaks down calcified tissue and scar tissue within the fascia
  • Stimulates new collagen production to strengthen the tissue
  • Improves blood flow to an area that's notoriously slow to heal
  • Reduces the nerve sensitivity that causes ongoing pain

Most patients need 3 to 6 sessions. Results often appear quickly, with continued improvement over the weeks following treatment as the tissue continues to remodel.
