What's Included in Your New Patient Appointment?

Your initial consultation at Spine Plus is comprehensive. We don't rush assessments. From the moment you arrive, our focus is entirely on understanding your problem and giving you a clear, honest picture of what's going on and what we can do about it.

Full Case History

We take time to understand your symptoms, how they started, what makes them better or worse, and how they're affecting your life.

Orthopaedic & Neurological Tests

A systematic physical examination to assess joint mechanics, muscle function, posture, movement patterns and neural involvement.

MRI Review (if available)

If you have existing MRI scans, your clinician will review them as part of your assessment and explain exactly what they mean in plain English.

Hands-On Treatment

In most cases, treatment begins at your first appointment, you don't need to wait until session two to start getting better.

Clear Action Plan

You'll leave with a written treatment plan outlining what we've found, what we're going to do, and how long it's likely to take to resolve your problem.

No high-pressure sales. No inflated scare tactics.

Our ethos is straightforward: patients before profit. We'll give you an honest assessment of your condition, realistic expectations for recovery, and a clear plan, nothing more. If we don't think we can help, we'll tell you and point you in the right direction.

Common Questions

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can book directly without a referral. If you have previous scans or medical reports, bring them along, they're very helpful.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

Same day or next day appointments are usually available. Call your nearest clinic or book online.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your condition. Simple sprains and strains often resolve within 1 to 3 sessions. More complex or long-standing problems may require a structured course of care. Your clinician will give you a realistic estimate after your first appointment.

Which clinic should I go to?

All four Spine Plus clinics, Woodford, Chigwell, Gidea Park and Kennington, can assess and treat most conditions. For disc injuries requiring IDD Therapy, Gidea Park and Chigwell have the full equipment suite. For focused shockwave, Kennington and Chigwell are your best options. Call us if you're not sure.
