Pretty's Heel Pain Resolved with Acupuncture and Shock Wave

Published: 8 November 2023

Pretty had been suffering with heel pain for over a year before she came to our Woodford clinic. After a combined programme of shockwave therapy and acupuncture, her pain was finally resolved.

Watch Pretty describe her experience:

Combining Shockwave and Acupuncture

Plantar fasciitis and heel pain often have two components: inflammation in the fascia itself, and chronic tightness in the muscles of the sole and calf that keep loading the tissue. Treating both at once tends to give faster, more complete results.

Shockwave therapy targets the inflamed plantar fascia directly, breaking down damaged tissue and stimulating new collagen growth. Acupuncture and dry needling releases the taut muscle bands in the sole and calf that maintain tension on the heel.

This combination approach, treating the structure and the muscle drivers simultaneously, is exactly the kind of multidisciplinary care Spine Plus has provided for over 20 years.
