At Spine Plus, we pride ourselves on offering an in-depth spinal assessment designed to accurately diagnose and treat a wide range of spinal conditions. Our approach combines the rigorous methods used by spinal surgeons with the holistic and detailed assessments performed by expert physical therapists.
We don't just glance at your MRI scans; we carefully review them and use them in the context of your full clinical picture. Unlike most spinal surgeons, we dedicate up to 60 minutes for your initial assessment.
Assessment Components
- Orthopaedic and Neurological Tests, Assessment of nerve function, reflexes, joint mobility and spinal stability using standardised clinical tests
- Detailed MRI Review, We examine the images directly, not just the written report, and correlate findings with your symptoms
- Extended Initial Assessment, Up to 60 minutes, allowing thorough history-taking and examination
- Expert Biomechanical Assessment, Evaluation of movement patterns, loading strategies and postural factors
- Palpatory Assessment, Hands-on examination of the spine, joints, muscles and surrounding soft tissues
- Personalised Treatment Plan, Clear recommendations including treatment options, referral pathways and what to expect

Why This Matters
Getting the diagnosis right is the foundation of getting the treatment right. Many people with back or neck pain have been through multiple rounds of generic physiotherapy or osteopathy without ever having their MRI properly reviewed in a clinical context. This assessment fills that gap.
Whether you need IDD Therapy, shockwave, surgery or simply a different approach to rehabilitation, this assessment gives you a clear and informed starting point.
No Referral Needed
You can book this assessment directly. If you have existing MRI scans, X-rays, consultant letters or physiotherapy notes, please bring these with you. They will help our clinician provide the most complete assessment possible.
What Happens Next?
After your assessment, you will receive a clear written or verbal summary of findings and a recommended treatment plan. Where referral to a spinal consultant, radiologist or surgeon is appropriate, we have established pathways and trusted relationships to facilitate this quickly.
